Q. Do you accept books previously printed by smaller publishing houses?

A. Yes, as long as the publishing house had or now has at least twenty-five books in print.

Q. I have already sold the print rights to one of my previously out of print books, but the e-book rights still belong to me. Can I still submit to you?

A. Absolutely. We do not buy print rights or any other rights beyond digital/electronic.

Q. I have a series that is currently out of print. May I submit information about the entire series in one e-mail?

A. Yes. Just follow the guidelines posted on our submissions page, and we'll be happy to take a look.

Q. What are the requirements for acceptance by Encore Romance besides a previously published book?

A. There are no set guidelines other than the book be a reprint and a romance. Otherwise, we base our decision on several factors which include the current marketability of the title, previous publication standards, and author platform.

A. No, and we have no plans for doing so in the future.

A. We purchase digital/electronic rights for two years. The author and publisher will divide the net proceeds received from all sales minus distributor discounts.

A. That will depend upon the distributor. Mobipocket sells lit files only; however, Fictionwise includes a host of different formats.

A. Yes.

Q. How do I know if my book will sell well as an e-book?

A. The simple answer is: you don't. There are no guarantees in any medium; however, e-book sales have increased steadily each year, and Encore Romance believes there is a new market for previously published romances. Many books published in the eighties and nineties haven't been read by the younger generation because they're difficult to find, aren't available, or readers simply don't know about them. A book shouldn't have to be shelved permanently simply because it's out of print. An e-book can guarantee the immortality of your work, and with the proper marketing and promoting, it can be passed from this generation into the next by the digital wave.

Q. Does Encore Romance promote or market the website, its authors, and books?

A. Absolutely. We employ the services of a marketing company that has an extremely positive reputation with its clients. Moonglade Marketing currently works with several publishers and many authors and knows the publishing industry. In addition, Encore Romance will continually seek out innovative ways to showcase our authors and our books.

A. At present, Mobipocket, Fictionwise, and All Romance eBooks. However, we anticipate our books will be available at even more online retailers in the near future. We will update this answer accordingly.

Q. How do I know how many pages/words are in the book before I purchase it? I don't want to pay $5.00 for only thirty pages!

A. We don't blame you! We have established guidelines (which are posted below) for the sales of our books so you will be able to judge the size of the book by the price.

20,000-30,000 words = $3.95

30,001-45,000 words = $4.95

45,001-60,000 words = $5.95

60,001-75,000 words = $6.95

75,001-90,000 words = $7.95

90,001 + = $8.95
